1.Educators may choose their own poems or use the suggested poem.

SUGGESTED POEM:  a young man’s thoughts before june the 16th by Fhazel Johennesse

i) Hand out copies of the poem.

ii) Learners read the poem once to themselves.

iii) Educator reads the poem aloud giving meaning through expression, scansion (rhythm, stressed and unstressed syllables),  enjambment and 

     cesura.

iv) Analyse the poem with the learners:
