PP: SYLLABLES AND RHYMING COUPLETS

    i) This is a group activity. Place learners in groups. 

    ii) Each learner in the group must write one sentence beginning with: When a child is born… The sentence must be one of hope and love. 

    iii) With the clever use of diction and figurative language, the group then converts each sentence into a rhyming couplet of ten syllables per line.

    iv) Group then organises rhyming couplets to create a poem. Lines and ideas must flow.

    v) Give the poem an original title.
