‘These days I live in three worlds: my dreams, and the experiences of my new life, which trigger memories from the past.
i) His intention is not to sensationalise his life, but to tell his story:
- We learn that he became a soldier. We know he survives as a child soldier.
- He introduces his life in NY.
- We are aware of the importance of his past in shaping who he is in the present.
- The significance of his dreams.
2. CHAPTER 3
`That night for the first time in my life I realised that it is the physical presence of people and the spirit that gives a town life.’
i) Flashbacks – longing for the past.
ii) The attacks. The desperation of the young boys.
iii) The REAL journey. What is their destination?
iv) The value of money/material things
